Shannon Gallagher is committed to lifelong learning and inquiry. Her interests range
from multi-age classrooms and project-based learning to soccer and photography.
Shannon currently serves as the Instructional Math Coach in the Elementary School at
the American School of Bombay, where she has been for the past four years. Prior to
her role as an instructional coach, Shannon has worked as a grade 1 and 2 teacher. She
is currently working on her second Master’s Degree in Education focusing on
Educational Leadership; her first was in Gifted Education. Throughout her time as an
educator living in India, Shannon has deeply connected to Mahatma Gandhi’s famous
quote, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever”. You

Vanessa Thomas was born and educated in New Zealand, Vanessa loved languages
and the arts and speech and drama training ....probably should have been an actor.
She has a real passion for where education is heading in the 21st century and ways to
allow the individual child to find and use and be who they truly are. She is a huge
advocate for self development. She loves reading, travelling, art, music, travel, and
yoga. She believes she has been lucky to travel and live in many, varied countries and
cultures. Her career has not been a conventional journey. She has been involved with
sales and marketing, training and coaching roles with multinationals as well as smaller
private operations. She has worked with FMCG companies, radio, newspaper,
cosmetics, fashion, design, motor vehicle industries, and in recruitment and HR, and event planning. . . .
