This parent feedback, the daily blog posts on the courses, and a short film created by students during a
film making Intersession course - all served as small wins.
Accelerator 7: Never let up. Keep learning from experience. Don’t declare victory too soon.
This is the final stage of Intersessions for the Re.D Studio. The Intersession program is moving out of
prototyping into an established practice at ASB. Our responsibility at this stage is to ensure that the
school is equipped with the knowledge, processes, systems, and skilled personnel ensuring sustainable
success and continued development of the prototype. For intersessions that has meant:
Hire, develop, and empower teams
Explore ways to sustain student engagement and interest between Intersessions
o Continue to prototype and grow the Connect Program
Accelerator 8: Institutionalize strategic changes in the culture.
The next and last stage of Kotter’s Eight Accelerators is institutionalizinging Intersessions into the DNA of
the school. Re.D Studio believes that this process will occur over time, as the prototype continues to
develop and grow. Re.D Studio will still continue to explore and prototype interesting courses, and form
new partnerships with experts in various fields and bring those to the Intersessions Team to execute.
We’ve been ideating further to see what else Intersessions could potentially become. Could this be a
space for students to travel to places to learn and experience different cultures? How do we leverage
the talent of current ASB faculty and staff? These are a few questions that we continue to ask ourselves
today. But Intersessions as a program has run through its prototyping cycle and now is on its way to
becoming integrated into the culture of ASB.
