I IMPROVE THE WORLD?
On March 28th and 29th, 2015, ASB invited
High School students from across the city to
participate in a summit that is designed to
bring engineering to schools. The summit
engaged 120 students in an interdisciplinary
design thinking process in order to design solutions for big challenges in
the Urban Development Field using Technology, Robotics and Artificial
The objective of the summit was to provide a platform to allow students
to use design thinking and TRAI to solve a specific set of design challenges
related to Urban Development. Five design challenges were created in
five important Urban Development fields:
Transportation - Design and develop innovative ideas around
potential transportation enhancements to the city of Mumbai.
Alternate Energy - Design and develop solutions that use
alternative energy to provide clean, renewable, and affordable
energy to cities and the people living and working there.
Waste Management - Design efficient waste management
systems and processes to manage the increasing amount of
waste generated in growing cities such as Mumbai.
Infrastructure - Design urban infrastructure systems involving
water, sanitation, electricity and food that will help support the
