198 Future Forwards: Exploring Frontiers in Education
Middle School
“It is valuable to have a tech coach in the school whom teachers can
approach and ask for help on tech matters and how to link them to
learning or to ask which tools would link to a certain project or topic. Keep
up the great work, coaches!”
“He was also always been available to share ideas and troubleshoot the
technologies he was sharing. I had the benefit of team-teaching with [the
coach] in some tech integration situations, and there was some modelling
that occurred naturally because of that.”
High School:
“ I love how she gets excited when she comes across a new tech resource
and can't wait to share with us.”
“[TI Coach]'s passion for technology was evident whenever we met. She
has been strongly advocating Zaption, a tool that allows to annotate and
edit videos to assess and differentiate students' learning.”
“The coach showed a very patient attitude to attempting to solve some
issues which were very frustrating and problematic over a long period of
time.”
Looking Ahead
As we move to the next school year of 2015-16, we look forward to
growing in our capacity of technology integration coaching. We have
plans for workshops for additional cognitive coaching sessions and more
opportunities to gain experience in technology skills to share with our
colleagues. Additionally, we would like to explore opportunities to
support our teachers more through classroom visits and reflecting
coaching conversations.
