Future Forwards: Exploring Frontiers in Education
Which of these describes your school or the school you want for our
children and young people? As the pace of change in all our lives
continues to accelerate, our views of the future are dramatically shaping
our schools and our students’ approaches to their lives.
The hopeful share core beliefs that set them apart from others. They
believe that “the future will be better than the present,” and that they
have the power to make it so. They believe that there are many paths to
achieving their goals, but that none of these paths will be free of
obstacles (Lopez, 2013). We invite you to read the work of our students,
teachers, and administrators, as they all strive to create paths, overcome
obstacles, and create a better future through sustained innovation for
