Teachers and teaching assistants experienced significant professional
growth and development while creating, planning for and teaching their
Day 9 projects:
Professional development support around the key aspects of
developing driving questions and planning a day long inquiry.
Planning a project they chose and created and teaching to
students who had chosen the learning project.
Teachers, teaching assistants, and the Day 9 Planning team report
increased comfort developing and teaching their Day 9 projects which
has led to increased risk-taking and improvement in depth and quality of
the projects over the course of the prototype.
As an ‘always beta’ prototype, Day 9 is complete. It is also open with an
expectation of continued development. The Day 9 Planning Team and the
ASB R&D Department created, developed, assessed, and refined this
prototype to ensure a high quality learning provision that meets the
needs of our students. The Day 9 prototype is the combination of these
