Final Iteration of Maker Saturday
In the latest iteration, we retained the
structure of headliner activities and
secondary activities but improved in a
couple of areas. We focused on creating
activities that build a set of “maker skills
and dispositions” that we wish to see in
our students of all ages. These skills range
from soldering and circuitry to design and
programming, to exploration and curiosity. In addition, our activities have
moved towards blending many STEAM concepts with Making. We have
varied the headliner activities less to give the members of our community
a chance to deepen their knowledge and attempt more difficult challenges.
Ozobot Coding is one activity that was new in this iteration. The Ozobot
is a small, sphere-shaped robot that can follow lines created by a marker
