After this had been completed, our Grade 2 team started to consider our
current inquires and matched the learning skills that we anticipated each
inquiry would require. This matching was designed to provide genuine
purpose for the learning skill inquiry and support students to focus and
reflect on the “how” of their learning. For example, during our How the
World Works UOI (Unit of Inquiry) the children would be required to
research by observing objects closely to find out new information, to think
and plan before beginning an experiment, and also to work with a partner
