This offers an opportunity for ASB teachers to create differentiated teaching
material and practice coaching skills.
Exposure to Teaching/Learning processes - TTP offers planned exposure
visits to ASB classrooms and to those of other partner organizations before
five of the six sessions.
Where have we reached?
In four batches since 2011, ASB has worked with over 250 educators from
Mumbai and other parts of India. In the past few years, the number of
participants per batch has grown from around 50 participants in the 1st
batch to over 70 participants per batch.
Since TTP has a clear focus on pedagogy and instruction practices, it has been
able to offer some direct and implementable practices to the participating
teachers. “First, the (TTP) helped us filter out the different curricula and
instruction practices that we had the options of choosing from. Two, they
helped us not reinvent the wheel. And third, they helped us validate some
of the things we were already doing well,” says Nihar Bawa from 3-2-1
Education Foundation. Amrita Nair, founder, Apni Shala, adds, “ (At TTP), I
also learnt about stages of development and how kids are at different ages
because that puts a lot of life-skills, attitudes, and values in perspective . It
gives a lot of context for what we need to create in terms of curriculum and
designing our lessons.”
While there’s a clear impact observed during participants’ final presentations,
ASB facilitators and coaches have reported to have benefitted from the
program in many unique ways. The following testimonials present some
“It reminded me of why I became a teacher as well. That it’s about the
children. Adn seeing how TTP participants interact with their children is
